Robert Glover was arraigned today (Thursday) on charges of felonious assault, kidnapping, abduction and aggravated robbery stemming from what Dayton police and the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office have determined was a drug deal gone bad.

The night of Sept. 27, police were dispatched on a report of a shooting on West Third Street. They found a male who had been shot in a vehicle in a grassy area outside a Dollar General store in the 1800 block of West Third Street.

The victim, identified as Tristen White, was hit multiple times. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Thursday, he was not listed as a patient, a hospital spokeswoman said.

According to the affidavit filed in Dayton Municipal Court with the criminal case, Glover fired a handgun into the driver's side of a vehicle that was parked at the location of the planned drug deal that involved marijuana. White was the driver. He and a woman had come to the location, in the 100 block of James H. McGee Boulevard, to "overwatch the drug deal."

Before the shooting, Glover threatened the person at the drug deal location and asked about White.

According to the affidavit, Glover dragged that person to White's vehicle, began arguing with White and began firing into the vehicle.

The woman was able to elude the gunfire. Glover ran.

Police arrested Glover on Oct. 11 and booked him into the county jail the same day, according to online jail records. He is to be returned to court in November.
