3 women arrested in connection to child custody case in Indiana, children found safe

GREENFIELD, INDIANA — Investigators located and arrested three women in Greenfield, Indiana, Monday who were fugitives involved in a child custody case.

A citizen contacted authorities after recognizing the women and children who were reported missing in media reports, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators and units with the United States Marshal Service were able to obtain a search warrant which led to uncovering additional evidence and eventually the location of a hotel in Greenfield, Indiana, where Nancy Frost, Heather Frost, Abbey Frost and three children were found.

Three-year-old Lane was reunited with his father, Jesse Johnson, per a court order out of Wayne Superior Court.

Both Emery, 3, and Trace, 8, were temporarily placed in the care of the Department of Child Services.

“I would like to sincerely thank the citizens of Wayne County and the surrounding area, and the media for their help in spreading the word about this situation. A special thanks goes to the citizen who came forward to provide the information leading to the capture of the Frost’s and the safe return of the children. Much respect and gratitude is given to the many agencies in the Justice System who assisted us in this investigation,” stated Sheriff Randy Retter.

Officers are continuing to investigate the ongoing incident.
