2 victims of Dayton shooting in stable condition; Police seeking information leading to arrest

DAYTON — The two victims of a shooting in Dayton Sunday evening are now in stable condition, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the area of 32 North James H. McGee Boulevard on reports of a shooting and vehicle crash around 5:35 p.m., according to Lt. Steve Bauer with the Dayton Police Department.

According to police, the initial investigation showed that an occupied vehicle was shot at and two people inside were struck by gunfire. 

The vehicle then struck a nearby home at low speeds, police said. The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said on Sunday that one of the victims was in life-threatening condition, but on Monday police confirmed both are now in stable condition.

Homicide Detectives were requested to respond and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which appears to have been a “targeted attack,” according to police.

Police say there is a cash reward available from Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest.
