NEW CARLISLE — A Medway woman sustained serious injuries from a motorcycle accident Friday evening.
Amanda Swanton, 44, was the passenger on the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, Brent Nelson, 36 of New Carlisle, suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to Miami Valley Hospital.
Neither Swanton nor Nelson were wearing protective riding gear, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at 5:44 p.m. Friday on SR-235 and Marquart Road in New Carlisle.
The occupants of the vehicle involved were not injured in the accident.
OSHP said a preliminary investigation revealed that Nelson was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Nelson also had a suspended driver’s license and did not have a motorcycle endorsement.
