2 killed in I-75 crash near Miami-Shelby County line identified

SHELBY COUNTY — State troopers are investigating a crash that ended with two people dead this morning on I-75 near the Shelby-Miami county line.

The crash was reported around 4:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway.

Three vehicles, including a semi, were involved in the crash, which happened when light snow was falling in the area of the crash. Troopers said the weather conditions may have played a role in the crash, however the investigation is ongoing.

Jesus Gonzales, 42, and Jesus Godinez, 18, both of Sidney died on the scene.

The driver of the other car, Jasmine Delafuente, 45, of Sidney was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover.

The driver of the semi, Paul Selzer, 61, of Kingston, Tennessee, was not hurt.
