I-71 back open after 2 crashes caused backups Saturday morning

GREENE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 12:27 p.m.:

All lanes of I-71 are back open after two crashes closed the northbound lanes Saturday morning.

Dispatchers say a wrecker is headed to the scene now to finish cleaning up the area.

UPDATE @ 11:11 a.m.:

Emergency crews are still on scene on I-71 where two crashes were reported around 9:30 a.m.

One lane is now open for traffic on I-71, but the others remain closed according to the Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Information on any injuries that may have happened in the crashes is currently unavailable.

FIRST REPORT:

A vehicle reportedly crashed and flipped on Interstate 71 North and medics are responding to the scene.

According to initial reports there are multiple people in the vehicle and some may be trapped.

A second crash involving a semi fire has been reported about a mile away from the scene of the original crash.

Another vehicle appears to be involved in the crash with the semi that is on fire, according to official scanner reports.

The two incidences are just north of state Route 72
