AMANDA TWP. — A 17-year-old female was killed in a crash on Fort Amanda Road Saturday around 4:15 p.m.
Layla N. Yoakam, 17, of Wapakoneta, was traveling west when her vehicle went of the right side of the road and struck a fence, pole and tree before flipping.
Yoakam was taken to St. Rita’s Mercy Health where she was pronounced dead.
Katelyn Rose, 16, of Wapakoneta, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
She was taken to St. Rita’s Mercy Health for serious injuries. Rose was later taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo where she is listed in critical condition, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
