Troopers identified the 8-year-old who was killed as Samuel Lockhart, 8. Lockhart was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, investigators said.

Sara Kunce and her other passenger, Natalie Kunce, 14, were both taken to the hospital. The 14-year-old’s injuries were described as life threatening, according to troopers. Sara Kunce’s injuries were described as serious.

“This is an unfortunate incident, and we greatly appreciate the first responders who assisted at the scene,” Waste Management said in a statement.
