Visitation and services have been set for Austin Singletary, the Bellbrook High School graduate who died during the annual ‘lake jump’ at Mirror Lake on the Ohio State University campus last week.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Avenue, in Washington Twp.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and services will immediately follow.
UPDATE @ 2 a.m. (Dec. 1): The former high school principal of an Ohio State student who died during the school's annual 'lake jump,' recalled a young man moving in the right direction.
“Good kid, he definitely looked like he was moving ahead with his career,” Bellbrook High School Prinfipal Chris Baker said Monday evening.
Austin Singletary, a third-year student, died of a broken neck when he jumped into Mirror Lake on campus, a tradition among students the week before their rivalry game with the University of Michigan.
The university has previously stated they are making moves to end the annual lake jump.

Preliminary results of Singletary’s autopsy revealed that he died of a broken neck, according to media reports.
FIRST REPORT:
A student from the Dayton area had a fatal medical emergency Wednesday during Ohio State University’s annual “lake jump.”
The university identified the student as Austin Singletary, a third-year student who attended Bellbrook High School.
Singletary was majoring in human nutrition, with a minor in business management. The school says the 22- year-old previously studied at Columbus State Community College.
“We are heartbroken over this horrible tragedy, President Michael V. Drake said in a released statement. “I know that the thoughts and prayers of all of us are with his family and loved ones. During this difficult time, counseling services will be made available throughout the holiday weekend for those who seek support.”
Ohio State says it will move to end an annual lake jump.
The event has been held every year before the football game against Michigan.
School officials earlier said a man had been pulled from Mirror Lake early Wednesday morning.
Columbus police had said the man had a cardiac emergency. He died later Wednesday morning at a hospital.
