Gas prices have gone up in the Miami Valley over the last week, but they are currently trending downward.
Average retail gas prices in Dayton have risen 10.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.25 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 391 gas outlets in Dayton.
This compares with the national average that has increased 1.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.22 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of gas in Dayton is $2.24, with prices falling. The cheapest gas, as of this morning, is $2.14 at the Shell at N. Main Street and Siebenthaler Avenue.
In Hamilton, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.27, with prices stable. The cheapest gas is $2.17 at Valero at Millville Avenue and Ohio Avenue.
In Springfield, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.24, with prices falling. The cheapest gas is $2.09 at the Marathon at Springfield-Xenia Road near Sparrow Road.
