BETHEL TWP., Miami County — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 7-month-old girl who was found not breathing at a Bethel Twp. home Thursday, according to Sheriff Dave Duchak.

The child, identified as Ava Gelvin, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics after they were called to the home in the 6200 block of U.S. 40 around 8:20 a.m. Thursday.

Gelvin’s cause of death is still under investigation and deputies are awaiting the findings of the Miami County Coroner’s Office, Duchak said.
