RICHMOND, IND. — Richmond police are investigating if two shooting incidents reported early Wednesday morning are connected.
Officers were first called around 2:30 a.m. to a home in the 600 block of Southwest A Street after receiving reports of shots fired. Damage was found to the home, however no injuries were reported, a police spokesperson said in a media release.
Witnesses reported a vehicle left the scene at a high rate of speed, however no description of the vehicle was provided to investigators, police said.
Hours later, officers were called to a home in the 200 block of South 20th Street just before 6 a.m. on another shots fired call. In this incident shots were fired into the home and a vehicle and no injuries were reported, police said.
Witnesses again described a vehicle that left the area at a high rate of speed after the shooting, however there was no vehicle description provided to police, investigators said.
Officers collected evidence at both scenes and are trying to determine if they are related.
