Child hit by stray bullet fired in Greene Co. road rage incident; Deputies seek vehicles involved

GREENE COUNTY — A child was hit by a stray bullet fired during a road rage incident on Col. Glenn Highway in Greene County Thursday evening, according to deputies.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. Thursday on Col. Glenn Highway near I-675. Witnesses reported two vehicles, a grey Nissan Rogue and a black Dodge Charger, were involved in a road rage incident with shots fired, deputies said in a media release Friday.

A child in a separate, uninvolved vehicle was hit by a stray bullet fired during the incident, deputies said. The victim, identified as a 9-year-old boy, has since been treated and released from an area hospital.

The Nissan SUV was last seen heading onto I-675 South, while the Dodge car was last seen going east on Col. Glenn Highway. Deputies believe the car had black tinted windows and also might have been hit by the gunfire.
