Butler County man sentenced for producing child pornography

BUTLER COUNTY — A Butler County man was sentenced Wednesday for producing child pornography.

Jason Gmoser, 43 of Ross Township, used a webcam while playing PlayStation games online to film and record sexually explicit videos of himself and young boys, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio.

He was indicted in both Ohio and Illinois back in 2014.

Jason Gmoser will serve 30 years in prison.

He is the son of Butler County Prosecutor, Mike Gmoser.

Jason possessed more than 900 video files between November 2011 and September 2014 in computer folders called “Movies (PS3)” and “Movies (Skype).”

He traveled out of Ohio to an eight-year-old victim’s home on several occasions, recording and saving nearly 450 sexually explicit videos of a victim from March 2013 until September 2014 though the PlayStation Network, the Southern District of Ohio said.

Gmoser pled guilty last December.
