The incident began as an attempted traffic stop on I-70 between Airport Access Road and state Route 48 before 1:30 p.m. after a state trooper pulled over a vehicle that was traveling over 100 mph, Sgt. Bradley Hess, Dayton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol told News Center 7.

The vehicle initially stopped for the traffic stop, however the car took off from the stop, as the trooper initialed a pursuit.

The pursuit continued along a stretch of I-70 into the Brookville area, before heading back eastbound with speeds in the pursuit estimated between 90 and 100 mph, Hess said.

The driver exited I-70 onto Airport Access Road and attempted to drive the wrong-way on Airport Access Road. Hess said two state patrol cruisers “initiated intentional contact" to get the vehicle to stop. The driver was taken into custody without incident after the pursuit ended, Hess said.

The passenger in the car was initially detained at the scene after the pursuit ended, however they will not face any charges.

The two cruisers sustained damage described as disabling, however no injuries were reported in the incident.
