DAYTON — A worker at Elsa’s Mexican Restaurant said he was coming inside after taking out the trash when he felt a gun against his head and a group of men demanded the Dayton restaurant's money.
The employee told News Center 7 that he saw three of four people inside a running vehicle in the back parking lot as he was taking out the trash at the restaurant and bar at 3618 Linden Ave.
When he opened the door to go back inside the restaurant, he said he felt a gun on the back of his head and the said they wanted the restaurant’s money.
After the robbery, the worker said the group fired two shots as they were leaving.
The robbery was reported around 9:50 p.m. Sunday, 50 minutes after the restaurant closed for the night.
“We just had an armed robbery at Elsa’s restaurant here on Linden Avenue,” the evening manager told a 911 dispatcher.
“They put two shots in the building on their way out the door,” he said.
No injuries were reported.
“They didn’t shoot anybody, they just got all the money,” he said.
The suspects fled in a white vehicle. They wore hooded jackets and each had scarves or something to obscure their faces.
