A Dayton man will spend at least the next two decades in prison.

Curtis A. Moody, 33, of Dayton was sentenced to 24 years to life in prison for his conviction of the July 17, 2014 shooting death of Jeffrey Farr, Sr., said Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr. in a release.

On July 17, 2014, Dayton police responded to a shooting on Germantown Street. Farr was found, shot multiple times.

The victim and defendant had been involved in an ongoing argument for approximately a year, Heck said.

A jury found Moody guilty earlier this month on counts of murder and felonious assault.

He was also found guilty in a bench trial of having weapons while under disability. Moody was on probation for domestic violence at the time of the shooting.

The 24 years‐to‐life sentence was the maximum consecutive sentence possible, Heck said.
