Police find drugs in diaper bag

Two women are facing drug-related charges after Dayton police found 12 capsules of cocaine in a diaper bag during a traffic stop.

Two children ages 1 year old and 10 months were in the van when police stopped it just before 11 a.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Germantown Street

Police also found six used and capped syringes in a purse and a half capsule with white residue in the driver's seat, according to a police report.

Marjorie Nelson, 30, was charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and child endangering.

Radonna Ward, 28, was charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments.

The women remain in Montgomery County Jail today, according to jail records.

Officers also found another empty capsule inside Nelson's waist band, according to the report.

Ward told police that Nelson bought the cocaine on West Third Street with the children in the vehicle, according to the report.

The children were taken by a family member.
