9-1-1 calls reveal more on woman who OD’d at McDonald’s with kids in car

DAYTON — City police revealed they found heroin in Rebecca Myers’ car during their investigation and said the 25-year-old admitted to being in treatment for her addiction.

Dayton police were dispatched to the McDonald’s restaurant around 1 p.m. in the 3900 block of Free Pike Avenue, according to a city police incident report.

More than one person called 9-1-1 after Myers passed out.

“Somebody’s laid out here overdosed,” one caller said to the dispatcher.

Witnesses reported Myers was holding a small child when she fell to the ground.

Children ages 9, 2 and 1 were with Myers when she overdosed, according to police.

“Her fingertips are turning blue,” a caller told the dispatcher.

The caller reported Myers was breathing but unconscious in the McDonald’s parking lot.

Emergency personnel reported they gave her Narcan.

Myers was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

“It was apparent to them that she was suffering a heroin overdose,” wrote Dayton Police Officer Jordan Wortham, in the incident report.

A witness told police Myers fell in the parking lot, and dropped a small child.

Myers told officers she had three children with her.

Myers told officers she is addicted to heroin and is using Suboxone to fight her addiction.

Myers told police she was driving the children from Englewood to Greenville when they stopped at McDonald’s. She was outside in the parking lot playing with a child when she lost consciousness, Myers told police.
