A Darke County mother claims two probation officers with the Darke County Juvenile Court used excessive force and injured her son Wednesday.
Angel Price filed a complaint with the juvenile court Wednesday and the sheriff’s office is now involved in the investigation into her son’s arrest.
Price and her 16-year-old son were at the juvenile court to meet with the probation officers after her son had not attended classes at school, Price told News Center 7.
According to the mother, the officers were trying to take her son into custody and he began to resist, but what happened after that crossed the line, she said.
One of the officers “slammed [her] son’s head into a window,” according to the complaint.
Price also alleged that the other officer “twisted [her] son’s left wrist, which is now swollen and red.”
According to the complaint, Price’s son also struck his head on a table in the probation officers’ office during the struggle.
Price is calling for the investigation, because she believes if she had done the same thing to her child that she would have been arrested for child abuse.
A panic button was pressed by an employee at the juvenile court while the stuggling inside the office took place and multiple deputies responded to the scene.
The sheriff’s office is investigating to determine if any charges will be filed against the teen.
The Darke County Juvenile Court is reviewing the mother’s complaint to determine if any action against the probation officers will be taken.
