The U.S. Marshals Service on Wednesday filed a charge of assault on a federal officer against 48-year-old Kurt Denton Crouch, who remains in the Montgomery County Jail.

Crouch also is held on a charge filed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office stemming from the Tuesday standoff at Motel 6.

Crouch allegedly fired at a cruiser during the incident, to which SWAT officers from the sheriff’s office and Dayton Police Department responded.

No one was injured and Crouch eventually was taken into custody once SWAT officers breached the door to his motel room.

We are working to learn more about the federal charge filed against Crouch.
