Search called off for 2 men who ran from traffic stop in Fairborn

FAIRBORN — Two men remain on the run after fleeing from an attempted traffic stop in Fairborn early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle near Meadowlands Drive around 2:10 a.m. when the car took off from the officer and didn’t stop, investigators said.

Fairborn police did not pursue the car, according to department policy, investigators said. The car was found abandoned a short time later in front of a house in the 1500 block of Meadowlands Drive, near Graceland Drive.

A woman who was a passenger in the car was located and detained however she was later released and will not face any charges, police said.

Multiple officers, deputies and state troopers responded to the area and searched for two men who fled from the car after it stopped.

The search, which involved multiple K-9 officers and an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter, was called off around 4 a.m. without locating the two suspects.

Police did not release their identities, however investigators said both had outstanding warrants for their arrests.

No injuries were reported.
