UPDATE: Sheriff to release new details on found bones investigation in Greene County

CAESARCREEK TWP. — UPDATE @ 3:05 p.m.:

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office will hold a news conference at 4:30 p.m. to provide an update in the investigation of the bones, suspected to be human remains, found on Waynesville Jamestown Road in Caesarcreek Twp. Saturday.

Earlier on Monday, investigators returned to the scene and were searching in a wooded area but additional details were not provided by investigators.

We’ll continue to update this story as new details become available.

The coroner’s office will have to determine bones found in the 1200 block of Waynesville Jamestown Road over the weekend are human.

Deputies said they do believe they are human.

The bones were found by a man who was mushroom hunting Saturday. He said he found the bones and some clothing in a field.

Investigators were back out at the same location Monday morning around 11:30 a.m.

No additional details have been released.

Further testing will be conducted to determine if the bones are human.
