Two free COVID testing events planned in region this week

With COVID-19 testing still in high-demand, two free testing events have been organized in the region this week by the Greene County Public Health and Public Health Dayton and Montgomery County.

A drive-thru testing site will be in operation Tuesday at Wright State’s Nutter Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Testing is free and open for people 10-years-old and over that are experiencing symptoms or have a known exposure to someone who recently tested positive, a spokesperson said in a media release.

Tuesday’s testing event will be PCR tests with patients receiving their results in 24 to 48 hours, the spokesperson said. Appointments are required for Tuesday’s testing event and can be scheduled on this website.

The second event was organized for Wednesday at the Bethesda Temple, 3702 Salem Avenue in Dayton from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday’s testing event is open to ages 2-years-old and up and is also by appointment only and testing is recommended for those experiencing COVID symptoms or have a known exposure.
