Coronavirus: Foodbank shutting down mass food distribution in Greene County due to weather

FAIRBORN — UPDATE @ 11:30 a.m.:

The FoodBank is shutting down the food giveaway at the Nutter Center early due to weather moving into the area.

Everyone within the police barricade at this time will be served, but others will be turned away.

There will be drive-thru food giveaways on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the FoodBank, 56 Armor Place, from 1-3 p.m. each day.

A mass food distribution for Greene County residents will be held at Wright State University’s Nutter Center Thursday.

The Foodbank will hold the distribution today in Fairborn from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nutter Center on Colonel Glenn Highway.

Organizers ask that those looking to receive food to have an empty trunk before lining up so food can be safely placed inside the vehicle. Also recipients are asked to not line up before 9 a.m. Traffic will be directed into the Nutter Center parking lot from Colonel Glenn and North Fairfield, and cars will be directed towards the back of the property.

“As people are still working to get back on their feet, we are excited to provide the support Greene County residents need during this unprecedented time,” Michelle L. Riley, CEO of The Foodbank said in a media release Monday.
