Coronavirus: 2020 Potato Festival cancelled, fall event planned

SPRING VALLEY — Spring Valley ACTS has cancelled the 2020 Potato Festival and planned an alternative, drive through event for the fall as current health and safety concerns prevent the festival from being held in its tradiational format.

The festival is the major annual fundraiser for Spring Valley ACTS, helping to fund community activities as well as maintain the George Barrett Concrete House.

To address the financial challenge this loss of income brings as well as maintain the spirit of the Potato Festival, a drive through event, planned October 3, will offer some favorite festival foods. The Potato Festival drive through event will meet all health and safety requirements.
