The Springfield Police Division confirmed Wednesday that the body found near Buck Creek is the missing woman from Tennessee.
Cassandra Fox was last seen April 4 in Springfield. Her sister Erin Laywell said she and another family member identified the body Tuesday.

Capt. Mike Varner with Springfield Police confirmed wounds were found on her wrist, however they likely weren't the cause of death.
He also said they are waiting on the coroner’s report for more information.
ORIGINAL REPORT:
Police have opened a death investigation to formally identify the body of a female found in a grassy area near Buck Creek, just off the North Belmont Avenue bridge.
Springfield police Sgt. Jeff Williams said the body is that of a female, believed to be in her late 40s.
He said investigators found no obvious wounds or signs of a struggle, the body does not appear to have been dumped and investigators believe she made it to the location under her own power.
Williams allowed that the incident could be a possible suicide.
There was no identification on the body and police are checking to confirm or knock down whether the woman is Cassandra Fox, 32, of Sevierville, Tenn., who was last seen April 4 in Springfield.
Her family on Monday offered a $500 reward for information that leads to Fox's return.
The body has been taken to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.
Police received a call about 6:33 p.m., according to a Springfield Police Division sergeant.
