If the scan shows the air in his brain is still abated, then the last tube will be removed from his brain. Chief Terrill said if all goes well, Ney will be able to start rehab again.

Officer Ney was shot in the line of duty on July 12th when officers responded to a domestic violence call.

He was rushed to the hospital and discharged less than two weeks later from a rehab facility.

Around a week later, his wife said he was sent back to the hospital after developing blood clots in the main arteries going to his lungs.

After finding air on his brain, he underwent surgery to patch the hole in his skull.

Ney continues to deal with blood clot issues but is able to sit up and eat with some difficulty due to his broken jaw that still needs to be addressed, Terrill said.
