Kyle Jacobs, husband to singer Kellie Pickler, dead at 49

NASHVILLE, TN — Kyle Jacobs, country music producer, songwriter and husband to singer Kellie Pickler, has died, according to both CNN and TMZ.

His death appears to be from an apparent suicide, according to Nashville Police.

A 911 call was received at 1:21 p.m. local time and Nashville Police officers and fire department personnel responded to their home, CNN reports.

Pickler told police she awoke a short time earlier and did not see her husband and began looking for him, Nashville Police said in a statement.

She and a personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office. They called 911, TMZ said.

Nashville Department of Emergency Communications in a statement from police obtained by CMT, had gotten a call just after 1 p.m. Friday from their house. When officers arrived, Nashville Fire Department had located Jacobs deceased with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Pickler and Jacobs got married back in 2011 and both starred on “I Love Kellie Pickler” for three seasons starting back in 2015, according to TMZ.

He worked as a country music songwriter with credits tied to stars including to Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson, Darius Rucker, Garth Brooks and others.

Pickler was in season 5 of “American Idol,” which led her to a country music singing career that included becoming a television personality, according to CNN.
