You can catch the Eta Aquarids meteor shower all month long

Head outside to catch the Eta Aquarids meteor shower during the predawn hours today.

The shower peaked during the predawn hours on Sunday, but is visible through about May 28 each year.

There are typically 10 to 30 meteors per hour, and the moon will not affect this shower.

Halley’s Comet is the source of the Eta Aquarid meteor shower. Every year, Earth crosses the orbital path of Halley’s Comet in late April through the middle of May.

Skies will be mostly clear during the predawn hours today, which will allow for a great opportunity to see the Eta Aquarids.
