2 injured after head-on crash on U.S. 127 in Preble County

PREBLE COUNTY — Two people were injured in a head-on crash in Preble County Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on U.S. 127, north of U.S. 40, around 1:50 p.m.

A Ford F-150 was heading south on U.S. 127 when it crossed over the center line and hit a Chevrolet Impala traveling north head-on, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Impala, a 70-year-old New Madison woman, was transported to an area hospital and was later flown to another Miami Valley Hospital. Troopers said she sustained life-threatening injuries.

An driver of the F-150, a 22-year-old Camden man, was transported to Preble County Hospital with minor injuries.

U.S. 127 was blocked in both directions between U.S. 40 and Lewisburg Western Road and crash reconstruction units were called to investigate.

Alcohol and drug use was not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
