5 critically injured after serious crash involving RTA bus in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP. — Five people were critically injured after a crash involving an RTA bus and a white Kia sedan at a Harrison Twp. intersection Thursday, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported just before 3 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Turner and Klepinger roads.

Deputies on scene told News Center 7 that four people from the Kia were and the driver of the RTA bus were injured, all suffering critical injuries. The driver was the only person on the RTA bus and no other passengers were on board, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the Kia was reported stolen out Xenia yesterday.

Deputies said witnesses estimated that the Kia was going 80-90 mph at the time of the crash.

The area of Turner and Klepinger roads was closed for several hours while deputies investigated the crash.
