University of Dayton Arena to host 2021 TBT Championship weekend

Red Scare will play in TBT for the third straight year this summer

DAYTON — The Basketball Tournament (TBT) announced that the University of Dayton will serve as hosting the 2021 Championship Weekend for this summer’s tournament at the UD Arena.

There will be eight teams from TBT’s four nationwide regions to compete for the $1 million prize. All quarterfinal games will be played on July 31st, both semifinal matches will take place on August 1st and the championship game will be August 3rd.

Dayton was scheduled to host TBT’s Championship Weekend in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic and Columbus hosted the entire tournament.

The Dayton alumni team, Red Scare, has committed to playing in TBT for the third straight year. Initial commitments for the roster include Devin Oliver, Trey Landers, Ryan Mikesell, Kyle Davis, Darrell Davis and Kendall Pollard.

Red Scare will serve as a featured team in the Columbus regional at the Covelli Center along with the Ohio State alumni team, Carmen’s Crew; they will play from July 23-27.
