University of Dayton named its team captains for the 2022 football season

DAYTON — The Dayton Flyers have announced that running back Jake Chisholm, linebacker Ben Schmiesing and offensive tackle Brian Stevens will be the team captains for the 2022 season. Derek Willits was picked as UD’s specials captain.

The captains were selected in a vote of team members after the Flyers’ practice on Saturday and kept confidential until they were announced prior to Sunday’s spring game at Welcome Stadium.

As for the game, White defeated Red, 17-7. After a scoreless first quarter, White scored a pair of touchdowns, a one-yard touchdown by Logan Davis and a 55-yard touchdown pass from Shane Hamm to Anthony Ammori to lead 14-0 at halftime. Red added a third quarter touchdown but Michael Denning’s 21-yard field goal in the fourth quarter sealed it for the White team.
