News Center 7 reached out to a UD athletics spokesperson about the report seeking official comment on Grant’s status as head coach. The spokesperson told News Center 7 the university does not respond to rumors or speculation surrounding employees. However the spokesperson did add “Anthony is our coach.”

Grant has gone 91-53 as head coach of the Flyers including three appearances in the National Invitational Tournament. While UD has not had an official berth into the NCAA tournament during Grant’s tenure, Dayton was a projected 1 seed in the 2019-2020 tournament that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
