Dayton guard Elijah Weaver will miss the remainder of the season

The University of Dayton announced Friday that redshirt junior guard Elijah Weaver will miss the remainder of the men’s basketball 2021-22 season. He is scheduled to have surgery to repair an injury on his left wrist, the surgery is scheduled for March 4.

Weaver played in 22 games this season and averaged 6.6 points per game. He originally suffered the injury on December 12th in Dayton’s win over Virginia Tech and has missed four games in Atlantic 10 play. Weaver scored just over three points per game in the ten conference games he saw action in.

Before he was hurt, Weaver scored in double figures in six of UD’s first nine games of the season. He had 14 points in Flyer wins against both Miami and nationally ranked Kansas in the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando back in November. His season-high was 16 points against Northern Illinois on December 4th.

Dayton’s next game is Saturday at LaSalle in Philadelphia, PA. Pre-game coverage starts at 1 pm, tip-off is at 2 pm and Flyer Feedback follows the game on the home of the Flyers; 1290 and 95-7, WHIO.
