Browns play at Pittsburgh looking to play spoiler role in season finale

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Cleveland Browns will conclude the 2022-23 season playing their arch AFC North division rival, Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday afternoon at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Steelers still have a chance at a playoff berth while the Browns were eliminated following their Christmas Eve home loss to New Orleans.

Pittsburgh clinches a playoff berth with a win over the Browns and losses by both the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.

The Patriots play the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park, New York and clinch a playoff berth with a win.

The Dolphins are in with a win over the New York Jets and a Patriots loss.

Cleveland will look to play the role of spoiler for the second straight week. They beat Washington, 24-10, on New Year’s Day in Landover, Maryland eliminating the Commanders from the playoffs.

The Browns are also looking to sweep the Steelers in a regular season series for the first time since 1988. Pittsburgh has a 47-14-1 record over Cleveland since 1990.

Cleveland won the first matchup of the season against the Steelers, 29-17, on September 22 on Thursday Night Football at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.

Both teams will have two different starting quarterbacks. Deshaun Watson gets the start for Cleveland while rookie Kenny Pickett will be under center for Pittsburgh.

Jacoby Brissett and Mitch Truibisky started the first game for each team.

Kickoff between the Browns and Steelers will be at 1 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on WHIO Radio.
