CINCINNATI — The NFL announced the Cincinnati Bengals will play the Kansas City Chiefs on December 31 in Week 17 of the 2023 season.
It is scheduled to play at 4:25 p.m. and will be televised here on Channel 7.
The Bengals and Chiefs have played regular season games in 2021 and 2022 as well as the last two AFC Championship games.
Cincinnati has a 3-1 record against Kansas City in their last four games but lost last year’s AFC Championship game.
Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval made the announcement on the Bengals’ Twitter account with Orlando Brown, Junior.
“The Bengals play the Chiefs Week 17 and I’ve got nothing else to add,” he said.
The mayor got into some trouble with some of his social media videos before last year’s AFC Championship game.
The Chiefs won, 23-20, on January 29 and went on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, in Super Bowl LVIII on February 12.
Cincinnati’s full 2023 regular schedule will be released on Thursday at 8 p.m.
Single-game tickets will go on sale when the schedule is released.
The Bengals’ home schedule includes nine regular games and one preseason game at Paycor Stadium. They will host the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks.
Preseason opponents will also be announced on Thursday.
