The Riverside Fire Department received reports of a car on fire in the drive-thru lane at the McDonalds on Harshman Road in Riverside, across the street from Stebbins High School, fire crews said.

As crews received further information, they learned that the victim was trapped inside of his truck as civilians in the parking lot were attempting to pull the victim out, crews reported.

Crews believe the victim was not pinned down in his vehicle, but was unable to exit through the driver’s side and was attempting to escape through the passenger side window. The victim was pulled from the vehicle prior to crews arriving on scene.

Fire crews on scene were able to contain the fire fairly quickly, according to fire crews on scene. No employees were injured and the victim was not transported to the hospital.

Pictures from the scene show the second drive-thru window is charred and damaged. Crews said the inside of the building received minor water damage.
