WPAFB Thursday Forecast: Warm, Muggy and stormy at the base today

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Get ready for another very muggy day, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.

A cold front swinging through today will bring showers and storms to the area. A few storms will be possible during the first half of the day but better coverage will arrive in the late afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will reach into the mid-80s but because of the humidity, heat index values will reach the low 90s.

A few storms this afternoon may become strongl. Lightning and localized downpours will be a threat with any storm that develops but some stronger storms could also produce damaging winds and hail.

Activity will taper off into the night as the front slides south and east.
