WPAFB Monday Weather: Hot today with temps soaring into low-90s

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Another hot and steamy day will start the working with temperatures soaring into the lower 90s by mid-afternoon, said Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell.

While the threat for rain is low, a pop-up shower or storm cannot be ruled out with the heat of the day. The heat index will top out close to 100 degrees.

The threat for storms will be on the increase Tuesday and Wednesday as a frontal boundary slowly pushes through the area. Locally heavy rain will be possible with the stronger storms. Also, a few storms could be intense with some hail and gusty winds.

A brief break from the heat and humidity is expected Thursday.
