Waffle House still cooks up meals despite tornado knocking out power

FULTONDALE, Ala. — Almost nothing can stop Waffle House employees from feeding those who are hungry. Not even a tornado.

An EF-2 tornado touched down in Fultondale, Alabama, and knocked out power to the community.

But employees at the town’s Waffle House didn’t let it stop them. They rolled out a propane-fueled flattop grill and started frying up burgers, WBRC reported.

At one point they ran out of buns, but a neighboring Arby’s gave them what they needed.

WVTM reported that the food went to first responders.

WBRC reported the crew would keep cooking until they ran out.

No power? No problem. The #WaffleHouse in #Fultondale wasn't going to let a #tornado keep it from firing up the grill for first responders!
