Both Roxanne Record, 53, and Kadjah Record, 29, were arrested Friday on charges of first-degree murder, The Associated Press reported.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said its officers were first sent to a home on Thursday morning to investigate 4-year-old China Record’s death. An autopsy found that the little girl’s blood-alcohol level was 0.680, WBRZ reported.

China Record’s cause of death is listed as “acute alcohol poisoning,” the AP reported.

While investigating, detectives said they determined that Roxanne Record, the child’s grandmother, forced the 4-year-old to drink a bottle of whiskey while the child’s mother, Kadjah Record, looked on, the AP reported.
