New York adds 4 new states to coronavirus quarantine list

NEW YORK — Travelers from Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin and New Mexico have been added to the list of the 22 states required to quarantine for 14 days upon entering New York.

New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced Tuesday that the four additional states meet the criteria to qualify for the travel advisory requiring individuals who have traveled to New York to quarantine.

Delaware has been removed from the list, according to the press release.

The travel advisory applies to any person arriving from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents over a seven-day rolling average or a state with a 10% or higher positive rate over a seven-day rolling average. New Jersey and Connecticut are part of this joint advisory.

Cuomo announced Monday that out-of-state travelers arriving in New York airports from the list of states face a $2,000 fine and a mandatory quarantine order for failing to fill out personal information on a tracing form that New York will use to help make sure individuals are quarantined.
