Meta’s first retail store opened to the public in Burlingame, California. According to KTVU, it will have new technology products like goggles and glasses for virtual and augmented reality. It’s a way for the public to test out new products that Meta is developing including Ray-Ban Stories, Meta’s AR glasses, its Portal video calling gadget, and more, before making a purchase. With these new products, Meta is hoping to further transform its platform and be able to bring consumers in even deeper.

In addition to testing out the new products, you can also buy them. Meta says they have created a news shop tab where you can buy some of the items you see or if you want to look into them more at Meta.com.

“Having the store here in Burlingame gives us more opportunity to experiment and keep the customer experience core to our development. What we learn here will help define our future retail strategy,” said Martin Gilliard, head of Meta Store.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta, visited the store before it opened at the end of April to check out firsthand how it will serve consumers.

“It’s a great way to see how our products connect people today and get a sense for what’s coming as we build towards the metaverse,” Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post.

No information has been released yet about any plans Meta may have to expand with more stores. If you are interested in checking out the store in California, it’s located at 322 Airport Boulevard in Burlingame.
