Dolly Parton releases line of cake mixes

Country music icon Dolly Parton has announced she’s teaming up with Duncan Hines to launch dessert mixes that are all Southern-inspired.

In a press release from the company, Dolly Parton said, “I have always loved to cook and, growing up in the South, I especially love that authentic Mom and Pop kind of cooking.”

The new flavors won’t hit store shelves nationwide until March, but to introduce the collection, Duncan Hines is offering a chance to buy some from its website, while supplies last. The collection includes Southern-style coconut-flavored cake mix, Southern-style banana-flavored cake mix, two types of buttercream frosting, recipe cards, a tea towel and a spatula.

“Duncan Hines is beyond thrilled to partner with Dolly Parton, one of the most revered and beloved women in the world, on a new line of products that are steeped in Southern comfort and inspired by Dolly’s family recipes,” said Audrey Ingersol, Duncan Hines brand director, in a statement.
