Buckingham Palace is investigating the claims that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex bullied staff.
The allegations stem from a complaint filed in 2018.
A spokesperson for the royal family told CNN, “Our commitment to look into the circumstances around allegations from former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is being taken forward but we will not be providing a public commentary on it.”
The Times of London reported that two personal assistants left because of Meghan Markle, Fox News reported.
The allegations came to light before CBS aired Oprah Winfrey’s sitdown interview between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which originally was broadcast on March 7. They also were made public weeks after the royal couple announced they were stepping down as full-time working royals, Fox News reported.
An external law firm has been hired to investigate, CNN reported.
Prince Harry and Meghan did not comment on the investigation but have in the past called the accusations that Meghan bullied staff, which were reported by The Times of London, as “defamatory.”
