3 boys dead, father charged with murder following Clermont County shooting

MONROE TWP, CLERMONT COUNTY — UPDATE @ 10:09 p.m.

A man is in custody on aggravated murder charges after deputies found his three children shot and killed Thursday afternoon.

County dispatchers said a 911 call reported a shooting on Laurel Lindale Road in Monroe Township at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon, according to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati.

Chad Doerman, 32, the father of the three children has been charged with three felony counts of Aggravated Murder, according to Clermont County Sheriff’s Office.

He is currently being held in the Clermont County Jail without bond.

Doerman will be arraigned on Friday at 10 a.m. at Clermont County Municipal Court.

The call came from an unknown female screaming, “Her babies had been shot,” according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office.

When medics arrived, they discovered three boys had been shot in the yard. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

One boy was three years old, another four years-old-old and the third boy was seven-years-old.

A 34-year-old woman, the boys’ mother, was also found outside the home with a gunshot wound to the hand. Medics transported her to UC Medical Center, according to WCPO.

Chad Doerman, 32, was found sitting outside a home at the time of the shooting and was taken into custody.

He is the father of three children, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting remains under investigation.

The superintendent of the New Richmond Exempted Village School District released a statement on social media Thursday night.

“Our hearts are once again broken tonight as we yet again ask the community to lift up those affected by this horrific incident,” said Tracey Miller, Superintendent. “Grief counselors will be available at Monroe Elementary tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m. We will have no further comment.”
