LONDON — A police officer was hurt after his cruiser was hit by a suspected impaired driver in Madison County early Saturday morning.

London Police officers and medics were dispatched at 2:49 a.m. to initial reports of a crash on W. High Street near Midway Street, London Police wrote on social media.
The other driver, a 24-year-old female, struck a utility pole after hitting the cruiser.
Medics transported her to OSU Medical Center in Columbus with serious injuries.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
London Police is reminding drivers to not drink and drive and wear safety belts.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
