GERMAN TWP., Montgomery County — Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a crash Friday afternoon that killed three women and critically injured two children and another adult.
Around 4 p.m. Friday in the 8900 block of State Route 4, two vehicles crashed, but a third car played a role in the crash, according to German Twp. police. That third car drove away from the scene.
Katie Roberts, 31, and her mother Rebecca Roberts, 61, were both killed in the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. Ashley Mance, 26, also died.
Mance’s children, identified by family as 7-year-old Averly Johnson and 23-month-old Andrew Johnson, Jr., who goes by “AJ” were taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
An adult male was also injured.
Police are working to unravel exactly how the collision happened and track down everyone that played a role in the tragedy.
“We did have a resident of Germantown, who, with their Ring doorbell captured a car, that was black, “ said German Twp. police Chief Chief Joseph Andzik.
Police have not identified the make or model of the car they’re looking at, Andzik said. Several leads have not led to the vehicle that played a part in the crash.
